Green serpentine stone musk ox, with white stone accents on the head
Large, heavy and impressive work, what a find!
Signed in syllabics on belly (see photo, biography below)
Body is polished, hair on bottom is scraped and rough as it should be;
Front right foot damaged, right ear damaged; one side of white part is missing, end of other white part is missing, not unusual for a vintage piece.+
Measures 14" long x 8-1/2" tall x 5 wide

Nuyaliaq Qimirpik (1937 - 2007) was active/lived in Nunavut / Canada. Nuyaliaq Qimirpik is known for Inuit crafts and sculpture, Inuit genre figures, wildlife, mythology.

His styles could be described as Inuit Art and Surrealism. He usually signed his works in syllabics.
