A collection of eight fairy tales infused with, and originated from Indian culture, engaging illustrations in color and black-and-white, that are rich with India originated perceptions and people by Blair Lent.
Haviland, chair of the Newbery-Caldecott Awards, children's book authority, and author, was most beloved for writing sixteen books from different countries in this around-the-world Favorite Fairy Tales series, but was most highly acclaimed as the founder and head of the Center for Children's Literature at the U.S. Library of Congress.
Light wear to the corner tips, else about near fine in cream-plum linen with plum embossed titles to the front cover and to the spine and with an orange embossed illustration by Lent depicting an Indian boy on an elegantly adorned elephant to the front cover, publisher's special sturdy reinforced inner hinges; in an about near fine dust jacket with some darkening to the spine panel; original printed $5.95 price and code R still intact to the front inner flap.
