Item description
Black Gum Tree (Nyssasylvatica) 6-12" in Height in a Quart Pot.
Easily grown in average, medium to wet soils in full sun to partial shade. Prefers moist acidic soils. Tolerates poorly drained soil and can grow in standing water. A stately tree with a straight trunk and rounded crown typically grows 30-50' tall with a spread of 20-30'. Small greenish white flowers give way to shinny slightly toothed leaves and small dark blue fruit attractive to birds and wildlife. Spectacular scarlet fall colors. Suggested use shade tree, street tree or focal point.
Hardy in zones 3-9, does best in full sun to partial shade.
Planting instructions included with every order.
California orders are shipped bare root due to CA restrictions on soil, November-April only.
