Own a piece of history today. This poster was used in store front windows to advertise Pears soap. The original artist is Briton Riviere who did this painting for Pears soap company 1909. "COMPULSORY EDUCATION" Features a Victorian girl teaching her dog to read . Rich brown colored frame measures 29.5" H X 23.25" W. This Textured print poster measures 23.25" by 17.25" Print is on a textured paper type material. Both frame and poster show some wear due to age and being in a store front window (SEE PHOTOS). No glass in front of the poster. Briton Rivière’s style seamlessly blended realism, emotional appeal, and a deep understanding of animals, leaving a lasting impact on the art world.
