About The Record:
Hoe-Down was a compilation album released by West Madison Street Records, an 80s house and soul label from Chicago. This album featured ten singles from various artists like Two of a Kind, and The Village Crew. Highlighted throughout this collection was hip-house, a musical genre also known as rap-house or house-rap, that mixed elements of house music and hip hop music. Also included on the album is Tyree Cooper, Bonhomous producer, DJ rapper from Chicago, now based in Las Vegas and running Chicago Vinyl Records and Kool Rock Steady (aka Edward Rudolph) who was a popular Chicago DJ, most famous for the Hip-House style he invented along with friends Fast Eddie and Tyree Cooper. He died from complications regarding AIDS.
