Item description
#17 in the Tom Swift Jr. series. Grosset and Dunlap hardcover publication. Copyright 1961. Print year estimate is 1962 or 1963, based on initial publication date of the last title listed on the rear cover, #22 Repelatron Skyway (1963). Internal book list list to #20 Megascope Space Prober (1962). Author "Victor Appleton II." Victor Appleton the first was the Stratemeyer Syndicate pen name for the initial Tom Swift series.
Very good book with excellent spine and hinges. Blue and white space lab endpapers. No writing/markings. Some corner bumping and a moisture stain at the top blue-inked page block (see pictures).
In this one, Tom takes hints from Dr. Frankenstein's work and builds a robot-like body in which to place brain energy sent to him from space friends. This star-headed body is named Exman, illustrated on the cover of the book, who spends time spying on the enemy, the Brungarians.
