Item description
The Trader's Soldier is a signed and numbered limited edition print by Harvey W. Johnson. The image size is 15" x 26". Overall size is 19" x 30". It was published by Somerset House in 1984 in an edition size of 1,000. Although Bents Fort, Colorado was the main source of supply on the Southwest Trail and for much of the Western territory, many traders preferred to trade with the Indians on their own ground, away from the fort. For the trader's protection, the chief would often assign one of the braves to act as a bodyguard, insuring that both parties got a fair trade. About the Artist: Harvey W. Johnson was a charter member of the Cowboy Artists of America, serving as vice president in 1976 and President in 1977. His works were in the CAA's first show in 1966 and have taken top honors in the annual CAA exhibition. He has been featured in Southwest Art and Artists of the Rockies magazines.
The image of this print is pristine. It has been stored in our gallery and never framed. Buy with confidence - every order is shipped with delivery confirmation tracking number. Fast shipping from our non-smoking home. AER
