CHECK OUT ALL MY OTHER STUFF IN MY STORE -- ITEM: VINTAGE 1951 KOREAN WAR MILITARY 5 GALLON WATER / FUEL CAN JERRY INSULATED COOLER BAG Yes this was the DEPARTMENT OF WAR / DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE authorized Bag for Jerry Cans / Fuel Cans Water Cans that were required in the field and on the Vehicles during the Korean War , as you know Winters were harsh and Fuel actually froze , so Jerry cans/ fuel cans were placed in these bags and insulated , to include the 5 gallon water cans as they would freeze and burst the containers, it also worked in the reverse , Jerry cans were also protected during the Heat so that they wouldnt explode, these bags were also used during WWII but they were canvas, I have those as well in my store. The Korean War brought improvement to these insulated bags and created a way to keep 5 gallon cans from Heat and to keep from extreme cold. My Bags are original 1953 Korean War insulated Bags, I have the NSN and the date stamp. My Bags are original and have been kept in a climate controlled warehouse. You are getting the real deal.
