The original cells of wood have been naturally replaced by quartz or jasper. The colors come from the minerals that replaced the wood as it fossilized. The outside ring shows the original fossilized rough bark of the wood. The top bottom are polished to a smooth finish and flat to show off the fantastic colors and growth patterns of this fossilized specimen, perfect for display.
