Item description
Isn't this Czech scent bottle gorgeous and unique? This comes from 40's, possibly early 50's. The pictures do not adequately show the beauty of this scent bottle. What is really amazing to us is the condition that it's in. It's truly perfect. There's not a chip or scrape and even the gold gilding has not worn off. Somebody took very good care of this bottle. Now the reason that you know that it's Czech is that this is a hand blown bottle and the pontil (the place where the blow pipe is chipped away from the bottom) mark can be seen on the bottom, however it's been ground away to make a smooth and more pleasing surface. Getting back to the point, the Czech's were the only ones making these scent bottles and exporting them during this era.
They became famous for their workmanship as well as their forms and designs in their unique little glass creations. Also, this one used to have "made in" wording on the bottom (as many Czech bottles did) however most of the letters have long since rubbed away leaving only a couple still present.
Condition - Flawless
