Illustrated in black-and-white, with some colored with either a yellow or blue hue, on almost every page, by Philip Gough.
An engagingly told history of the theater, with play production examples, and its progression through time, sectioned into ten time-period chapters.
Fine in blue linen boards with black titles and illustration depicting Shakespeare's donkey-headed Bottom character to the front cover and with black titles to the spine; in a very good dust jacket with two short creased tears to the upper edge of the front panel, light rubbing to the spine panel and flap folds, and rubbing and minuscule nicks to the upper and lower spine edges and corner tips; original price was clipped with updated printed sticker price of 2.95 price still intact to the front inner flap.
