This novel is considered the popular British novelist's American audience focused launch book, promoted by an American publisher. Quite elusive in this American edition. Mild age-toning to the inner hinge area as usual, else very nearly fine in beige linen over black linen with black embossed titles to the spine; in a near fine slightly rubbed dust jacket with tiny creased tears to the upper and lower spine edges; original printed $5.95 price still intact to the front inner flap.
