Item description
, Barbara Groenteman Signed/Numbered Giglee Print Framed Sea Shells
Watercolor artist, Barbara Groenteman, lives and owns an art gallery in Naples, Fl. Her work features the many tropical inspirations found there, like foilage and, of course, sea shells. Fopr anyone with a beach home or enamored by shells, this print is perfect.
We believe she works exclusively in the watercolr medium, which allows for the vibrancy of the drama of color. As she explains: "My vibrant colors balance the drama of the light and shadows which is done in a realistic approach. I capture the sparkle and sunlight patterns by preserving the most important areas of the white paper, masking fluid is rarely used. My work is considered 'contemporary realism.' The essence and technique of my style is the careful build-up of wet-in-wet layers of pigment. The pigments are sometimes just dropped in clear water washes, which allow the colors to mingle and dance on the paper. Areas of the paintings can have as many a 12 glazes of pigment, so I can achieve the glow and vibrant color saturation. My palette is the highest grade of light fast transparent pigments executed on 300lb.archival mould-made Waterford paper from England. All framing procedures are done in a conservation manner to preserve the archival integrity of the original artwork or giclée. " She says.
She produces limited edition limits giclées, which do not exceed 150 (like this one) that are printed with an 8-color printer on archival fine art substrate, using pigmented inks that are tested light-fast for maximum print longevity. This print is number 22 of 150 and has been hand signed. It measures (framed) 24.5 inches L x 13. 5 inches H. Gold -Bronze toned metal frame. Wire on back; ready to hang.
