The program dissects this method of capital punishment (one of the most brutal ever devised) piece by piece, and discusses the many martyrs who chose to literally align themselves with Christ's sufferings by experiencing the same ordeal. It is enhanced by a forensic reconstruction of a crucified body via 2000-year-old evidence, and footage of contemporary crucifixions, which some people undergo voluntarily during Easter week. CG-animated graphics are used to illustrate the various methods of ancient crucifixions.
