Comments......... Fish, fishermen in boat, Reserve Bank of Malawi, and revolutionary leader Lazalo Mkhuzo Jere on front. Domasi Teachers Training College building, stack of books, and graduation mortarboard on reverse. While the caption reads Domasi, the actual location of the college is Machinga. The bank reports this will be corrected on the next printing, making this first run a future rarity. 2nd image is note under ultraviolet (UV) light to show security inks.
Kwacha = In Bemba (Zambian language): "Dawn" symbolizes the Zambian nationalist slogan "New dawn of freedom"
Watermark: Inkosi ya Makhosi M'nbelwa II and cornerstones (3rd image)
Image is not exact note in lot.
Printer: Thomas de la Rue (TDLR), England.
