Rare NATIONAL DRAFT BEER 2 1/4 Gall. and 30 similar items

Very Rare in this condition is a NATIONAL DRAFT BEER 2 1/4 gallon refrigerator keg. Condition is very good, it has not been modified in any way except for being empty and washed out. It still has all the stickers and the inside cartridge (depleted) as well as the plastic cover that goes over it. (These usually get brittle and break up over time or get destroyed in opening the keg up). Size is 8" across x 11 1/4" long. From a private collection. History: From the mid to late 60's these were produced for a short time until it was decided that it was to much trouble. The customer would buy these, take them home and when it was empty they would return them for the deposit and to replace them. The empty keg would be sent back to the brewery where it would have to be cleaned inside and out (including the tapper mechanism which would usually break), replace the gas cartridge in the back, refill it, replace all stickers and send it back out. When they were discontinued the kegs were scrapped for the aluminum by the company which is why not many survived.
