VINTAGE MID-CENTURY KOSTA BODA ?MAN FISHING? BY ELIS BERGH CLEAR CRYSTAL VASE / FLASK SIGNED, WITH ETCHED / ENGRAVED ?MAN FISHING? - SIGNED + MODEL NUMBER ?323? This true vintage MID-CENTURY KOSTA BODA ?MAN FISHING? BY ELIS BERGH CLEAR CRYSTAL VASE / FLASK is etched and engraved, depicting a man fishing with his pole in the water. He is wearing his waders, a hat and jacket. This vessel is flask shaped, with rounded and slightly flared sides, rounded shoulders, fluted neck and flanged mouth. The neck is not ground, and is not meant to have a corresponding ground stopper. The front and back were cut to form arched panels, with the front having the engraved and etched figure. This vessel is by Elis Bergh, who started as a designer and became the artistic director at Kosta. In 1950 he left Kosta and was succeeded by Vicke Lindstrand. Signed and etched on the base: ?KOSTA B.? - the ?B? signature for Elis Bergh, written in such a way that the left side of the letter looks like an inverted ?E? - and Model Number ?323?. Condition: In very good vintage condition, with a very small ?flea bite? on the back panel, and light surface scratches on the base, which is to be expected on a vintage piece.
