Item description

Timex Sinclair 1500 vintage computer, one of the earliest portable computers from the 1980s. Comes in a custom briefcase with foam padding to hold everything. Includes the following: Timex Sinclair 1500 unit. It has a layer of plastic film around the keyboard keys that appears to have been there when the unit was new, and simply never removed. Original instruction manual. Power adapter. Not the original, but a power supply with variable settings. Currently it is on the the 9V 100mA setting, which the manual confirms is correct. TV/computer switchbox and RF cable. Dual audio cable, for connection to a cassette player/recorder (not included; the manual specifically states you will need to provide your own cassette recorder). Three (3) "Technical Literacy Series" cassette tapes. Fourteen (14) "Technical Literacy Series" instruction booklets: Computer Literacy Student Guide Course Introduction Self-Test Tape Guide The Magic of Computers An "Inside" View The System and the Software Program Design - The Game Plan Putting Your Microcomputer to Work A Lesson in BASIC Programming Computer Logic - The Limits of Comptuer Intelligence Control Breaks - Taking Intermediate Totals Tables and Arrays - Lists of Similar Data Merging - Functions Advanced Printing and Graphics Techniques Stickers on the documentation indicate that this unit originally belonged to a school, university or library. Everything is in very good condition. Unfortunately I was not able to thoroughly test it as I don't have an older TV with the right hookups. The instructions specify the two-pronged UHF-VHF connectors. I tried using an adapter between the RF plug and the coaxial cable input on my TV but was not able to get it to work. It may require a TV set with the older connector. Sold as-is, no guarantees. Free insured shipping anywhere within the U.S. International shipping will vary by destination; please ask if interested. Please be aware that due to the weight, shipping outside the U.S. will be quite expensive. I welcome lower offers, especially if you are buying multiple items at once. To make a lower offer, add the item(s) to your cart and on the checkout page you will be given the option to name your own price. (If you are not seeing this option, it may be because your state requires sales tax. Bonanza is working on a fix for this issue, but you can also send me a direct message with your offer.)
