Condition: Used in Good Condition. No chips, cracks, fleabites, or scratches. More About This Item: This is a delightful Studio Art Pottery Hand Built Slab Stoneware Vase. It has a feminine quality due to the pastel peach color and an abstract Hibiscus Flower on the front only. Milky accents appear in the peach glaze, and the artisan has divided the surface of the vase in sections which creates borders between the colors. The base was created using two semi-circle slabs of clay pinched together. The large flaps on the front and back were irregular shaped slabs of clay applied to the top of the base and pinched in two places to create openings for flowers to be inserted. The pinching in the top openings are irregular also adding to a hand Built quality and a design accent. The foot is bisque and has some felt circles to protect surfaces from scratching. This vase would be an unusual piece to own and/or add to a Studio Art Pottery Collection.
