Orginally grown as Pimenta Jolokia Lavender Ice named by Bryan Townsend which has darker Lavender colorization. This phenotype is much paler and almost solid peach with pink hues and blushing. Not to confuse it with Lavender Ice, this variant is called Pink Ice...of course keeping the Pimenta Jolokia and the later added Ice in the name for transparency and genetic tracking. This is just one of many variants of Enrico Lai's original cross. It is a relatively new pepper variety and was first introduced to the market in 2014. The Pimenta Jolokia Pink Ice pepper has a Scoville rating of around 800,000 to 1,000,000, making it one of the hottest peppers in the world.
