The overlay can fail due to wear and tear over time, or if it has been exposed to extreme temperatures or moisture. Symptoms of failure include: Broken faceplate Cracks or discoloration of the plastic The range does not respond to any commands from the control panel If you suspect your faceplate has failed, it's important to replace it as soon as possible in order to ensure your range continues working properly and safely.
