Item description
zts-Chu (Apache; The Eagle) is a signed and numbered limited edition print by Penni Anne Cross. The image size is 15" x 12". Overall size is 20" x 16". It was published by the artist in 1992 in an edition size of 475. The image of this print is pristine. There is a small discoloration in the upper left hand corner of the white border that would not affect anything once the print was matted and framed.(See pictures!) About the Artist: Crow Indian artist Penni Anne Cross, (Alawa-sta-we-ches) was born in Washington state in 1939. She first studied with her portrait-painter mother, before beginning more formal studies in 1968. Working in both oil and pastel medium, Penni Anne Cross developed a place in the art world working with subjects close to home ? her Native American family and the people she lived with. Given the Crow Indian Name, Alawa-sta-wa-ches, Penni felt the literal translation ? ?Travels the Good Road? paved her way and time in life. Of the Crow Indians themselves, this contemporary artist said, ?I will always strive to maintain and portray the dignity of the Native American in my painting.? Penni Anne Cross died in 2016.
