Item description

Brother to Brother DVD (2010) Anthony Mackie, Evans (DIR) cert 15 Title: Brother to Brother Leading Actor: Anthony Mackie Region: Region 2 Duration: 90 mins Format: DVD / Normal Type: DVD No. of Discs: 1 disc(s) Studio / Publisher: Spirit Entertainment UK Release Date: 04 Oct 2010 Edition: Normal Drama examining the hardships of gay, black artists in the States, marking the feature-length debut of filmmaker Rodney Evans. Perry Williams (Anthony Mackie) is an African-American living in New York, who is scorned by his father because of his sexuality, and by his fellow black artists for the recognition he has acquired from the white community. Perry then meets ageing homeless poet Bruce Nugent (Roger Robinson), who was a writer in the Harlem Renaissance of the 1930s. Bruce recounts his memories of that time and of other artists such as Langston Hughes (Daniel Sunjata) and Zora Neale Hurston (Aunjanue Ellis), demonstrating that the struggles Perry faces in the modern world are not so different to those Bruce had to deal with in his younger years. Please note this DVD is region 2 and will only work in the following regions Japan, Europe, South Africa, the Middle East (including Egypt) and Greenland, Unless you have a multi-regional DVD Player.
