The gambling madam grew wealthy and was well-received in society. She is buried under the Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi. Laughlin?s father, N.B. Laughlin, came to Santa Fe from Texas in 1879 and became a Territorial Supreme Court judge in the early 1900s. Mild damp stains to the covers front cover, some remains of white paper residue to the upper corner of the rear cover, else about very good in green linen with partially flecked-off gilt embossed titles to the spine, green headband and tail-band, map illustrated end-papers; lacking a dust jacket.
