Item description

Vintage original 8 x 10 in. US single-weight glossy photograph from the 1940s animated adventure comedy, PINOCCHIO, released in 1940 by RKO Radio Pictures and produced by Walt Disney Productions, in which a living puppet, with the help of a cricket as his conscience, must prove himself worthy to become a real boy. The image depicts Gepetto (voiced by Christinan Rubb) carrying Pinocchio (voiced by Dickie Jones) as little Figaro (voiced by Clarence Nash) sits nearby. This actual photograph was used for publication in a newspaper and features grease pencil and ink marks on the recto. Affixed to the top of the verso is the original paper snipe that describes the image as well as two corresponding newspaper clippings of this photograph. Provenance: The Hearst Los Angeles Herald Examiner newspaper archive.
