Item description
In Sunny Nigeria by Albert D. Helser
Fleming H. Revell Co., First Edition, 1927
Condition: Very Good
This appears to have been the first American book devoted to describing the people of Nigeria (also called Buraland, after the native Bura language), their way of life and customs. Written by a pioneer missionary to this African country, it also chronicles his and fellow missionary H.S. Kulp's efforts to share the Gospel with the Bura people. Fourteen photos and a map of Nigeria accompany the 188 pages of text. A pictorial cover, though no dust jacket. Slightly bumped corners, with minimmal other exterior wear. Several page corners are creased due to bumping, and pages are rather toned. An erasure is visible on the ffep, but no other writing.
For those interested in historical missionary work or for collectors of books on Africa, this is a good addition to your library.
