Originally belonging to my neighbor's Father, these Marked “Black Metal US Army Enlisted Rank GI Private First Class Chevron V Insignia Lapel Collar Clutch Back Uniform Pins" date to the mid-1940s. Passed down to my neighbor in a box of pins, jewelry, pen knives and other memorabilia, it had been stored in her parents attic until they moved to assisted living in 2011. My neighbor is getting ready to move to a smaller home and she has asked me to help sell some of the things she’s not taking with her, including this Pin; it comes from a smoke-free, pet-free home. Shaped like an upside down “V”, they both have a height of approximately 3/4ths of an inch and a width of approximately 7/8ths of an inch; the back of one is Marked “LI GI” and the other is Marked “GI” and the clutch backs are Marked “Ballou Reg’d”. Made of Black Matt Metal, all 4 clutch backs are Original. Masterfully crafted with an EXQUISITE, eye-catching shape, they have a FABULOUS, CLASSICAL US Army Military design that is quite HANDSOME.
