Antique 1860s Hand Carved Boxwood Chinese and similar items

This is a UNIQUE, Hard-To-Find, ANTIQUE, EXCELLENT Condition, Hand Crafted "Hand Carved Boxwood Chinese Shoulao God Of Longevity Wood Carving Figurine Figure Statue" handmade in China in the mid-to-late-1800s. My friend's Uncle purchased this WONDERFUL wooden Shoulao Statue at an Estate Auction in Chantilly Virginia in 1975 from the estate of a wealthy Chinese man who had emigrated to the United States in the 1950s, bring his treasured possessions with him. This Carved God of Longevity Statue was notated in my friend's Uncle's inventory as "Antique Chinese Shoulao, God Of Longevity, Boxwood Hand Carved Statue - 1862". Displayed inside a glass cabinet as part of a collection of Chinese Antiques, this Statue was packed away in 2012 while his estate was being settled; it has been safely and securely stored. With a WARM, aged patina, it is in EXCELLENT Condition with NO marks, stains, odors, chips, cracks or other damage; it comes from a smoke-free, pet-free home. Hand Carved from a single piece of heavy, dense Boxwood, this Statue stands approximately 8 inches tall and has a base with a width of approximately 3 3/4 inches and a depth of approximately 2 1/2 inches; it is NOT Marked or Signed. With a graceful shape and intricately detailed features, it is ENTIRELY hand carved from a single piece of Boxwood by a SUPERBLY talented Chinese artist who has created a primitively HANDSOME Statue and buffed it to a nice sheen. The workmanship has WONDERFUL texture and flowing lines, making this Statue truly a UNIQUE work of Chinese Folk Art that is both ELEGANT and PRIMITIVE at the same time. Carefully carved from solid Chinese Boxwood, Shoulao features an original, painstakingly carved shape that is fluid and interesting with a smooth texture and rich tones. Exquisitely carved, it has a STUNNING, rich-looking, incredible patina. Holding his classic staff in one hand, Shoulao is holding a large peach in the other hand; the Peach is a symbol of long life.
