Box cover is faded with a sticker shadow on the upper right corner (see photo). Cassette is clean and has a hairline crack in the right window. It has a foil security sticker on the endcap assuring you of first generation quality. Near-documentary style, with Streep excellant as the religous, un-knowable mother. A sensational Australian murder case is recounted in vivid detail under Fred Schepisi's brilliant direction. Based on a true story, this searing drama emerges as a strong indictmnet of hysterical public perceptions, bloodthirsty media, and sloppy forensic investigation. Streep, speaking with a convincing Aussie accent, is superb as the mother whose infant is found missing and presumed killed by a dingo (wild dog) while camping with her family. Her tragedy is compounded when she is charged with murder. Streep was nominated for the Best Actress award by the Academy.
