Vintage Brutalist Earrings Freeform Brass Amethyst Brazil Drop Pierced Modernist Metallic Dangles Organic Sculptural Metalwork Design Gemstones Gems Textured Surface Burnished Artisan Hand Crafted Handmade Wearable One-of-a-Kind Metal Art These are fabulous vintage statement pierced earrings made in Brazil. The earrings are done in the Brutalist style with large raw cut amethyst nuggets. They appear to be made of brass or bronze and copper with an oxidized finish. I’m not sure of the metal content and they have not been tested. It is possible there is a base metal with a gold tone or brass finish. The earrings measure approximately 2 inches in length and 1 inch wide at the widest point (not including the French hooks). They are not signed, but remind me of the style of earrings you would see in the Copa Carvalhu Collections from Brazil. The earrings are in great vintage condition as you can see by the enlarged photographs. I have not polished them as many people prefer the patina that only comes with age. Depending on your own taste, I will leave any polishing up to you; you can keep it in the same condition with its original patina or polish it. There are no chips to the rough cut amethyst.
