Nordic Shamanic Saami Drum Figures Gods Brooch Pin Wood Antler Inlay Artisan Handcrafted Sami Inspired Jewelry Norway Sweden Lapland Finland Scandinavia Artic Wooden Etched Carved Inset Handmade Hand Painted Ethnic Symbols Sacred Images Pictographs Figures Robes Crowns Symbolism This is a stunning and unusual wood brooch with what I believe to be a hand crafted engraved or etched reindeer antler or bone inlay (It has not been tested so I cannot state for sure). I have not found another like it for sale anywhere on the Internet. The style and designs are found on the handcrafted Saami Shamanic drums from the Lapland, Inari area in Finland, which were carried by the Shaman to help get into a trance. It is common to find three or more Gods standing together with a symbol of the sun. I believe this depicts various Gods such as the “God of Wind” and the "God of Thunder". The pin is unsigned but shows superb craftsmanship and inlay work. It measures approximately 2 inches wide and 1 inches tall. I have included some inset images in one of the photos, which show the symbols that are used on the drums. This brooch is in great pre-owned condition as you can see by the enlarged photographs. The closure works fine and is secure. You can see a fine line of glue that has dried around the backing where the clasp is mounted.
