Item description
Vintage Kay Dee design linen cotton kitchen towel with a very interesting design of vintage musical instruments. This item captures your attention more so than other towels, if you do research on Leslie Lindsey Mason, the name in print on the bottom of the towel.
Her married name was Mrs. Stewart Southam Mason. She is mentioned in publications from the Boston Museum of Fine Arts published in the 1920’s. In 1915 a German Submarine torpedoed and sank the RMS Lusitania passenger boat, killing 1198 people.
Leslie Lindsey Mason was one of those whose lives were lost. In 1917, William Lindsey (her father) donated 560 musical instruments to the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, of which he was a
trustee, creating the Leslie Lindsey Mason Collection.
This towel shows some of the instruments that were donated.
The solid wood frame measures 27 inches tall
by 17 inches wide
Condition: -- I am only saying 'used' because it is not in original package and I do not know where it was prior to being framed. This item is framed in a solid wood frame and is covered by glass with a paper cover on the back. The
paper cover has multiple tears but is still solidly attached. The wood frame is tight at the corners and does have some scuff marks and small nicks.
Shipping will be actual shipping cost figured after buyers address is known, I ship mostly by USPS mail but can search for less expensive carriers.
