Item description
Grosset Dunlap. Copyright 1943. Likely print run 1943 or 1944.
#1 in the series.
Fair to good red board book has some wear, especially at spine bottom, and some bowing, but it is sturdy, pages are tight, complete, not dog-eared, and not brittle or fragile, despite the fact that War-Time paper was used. No rips or tears. Gray endpapers. No writing/markings. Age-darkened side and bottom page blocks.
Serious dust jacket chipping at spine top and bottom and some at top corners. This is a difficult book to evaluate, because it shows its age, but, while not a first edition, it comes pretty close - it is a very early printing, possibly from a second 1943 print run or a 1944 print run.
Dust jacket has "P.C.J." designation at top right and "120-160" designation at bottom left of front flap. Front flap summarizes itself, rear flap summarizes the next volume, which may have been anticipated, Senior Nurse (1944). Jacket rear lists to Beverly Gray's Problem (1943). Estimated print run at 1956 or 1957.
Now protected in mylar.
