It's no longer much of a secret that respected mystery author Lawrence Block began his careen writing soft core novels for specialty paperback publishers. One of the first of these, under the pseudonym Sheldon Lord, was CANDY, originally written in 1960. (It was likely reprinted in 1968 to take advantage of the just-released all-star movie CANDY which was NOT based on it). The book is partially lesbian-themed, which was then Block's specialty. Some rubbing and an ink-drawn star on the front cover, a light spine reading crease and a light corner crease and small corner color chip on the back cover. Numbers stamped on top page edges. The interior is unmarked and very nice. Overall, a tight, square copy. UNCOMMON TITLE.
