Item description
Authentic vintage hand signed black and white glossy autographed photo of Massachusetts Gov. Francis "Frank" W. Sargent. We offer a lifetime guarantee this autograph is original and authentic. The inscription reads, "F- G- with best wishes, Frank Sargent." Measures 8 x 10. Condition: The photo is in excellent condition. Comments: This item comes from a large collection we purchased from a former Boston radio announcer and musicologist who specialized in writing album liner notes and interviewing entertainers for freelance articles appearing in various national publications. Biography: Francis William Sargent (July 29, 1915 - October 21, 1998) was the 64th Governor of Massachusetts from 1969 to 1975. Born in 1915 in Hamilton, Massachusetts, he was known for his sharp wit and self-deprecating manner. He was a dedicated conservationist who delivered the keynote address at MIT on the first Earth Day in 1970. He had earlier served as state commissioner of natural resources for ten years, and went on to win appointment as state Commissioner of Public Works in 1964.
