Item description
#12 in the Tom Swift Jr. series. Grosset and Dunlap. Copyright 1958. Print year is estimated at 1963 because the rear cover lists to Repelatron Skyway (1963). Author is "Victor Appleton II," a Stratemeyer Syndicate pen name for the Tom Swift Jr. series.
Sturdy picture cover book with no tracking or page looseness. Blue and white space lab endpapers. No writing but there is some storage surface grundge on the rear cover.
In this one, Tom develops the Challenger craft, a high-speed solar-powered gyroscopic aircraft that can reach the moon in a few hours; this craft is also used by him in some of the subsequent books.
