Item description
An original framed and matted poster for an exhibition titled "The Manchu Dragon: Costumes of the Ch'ing Dynasty," which took place at The Metropolitan Museum of Art from December 16, 1980, to August 30, 1981. The central artwork featured on the poster is "Twenty-one Ancestors with Spirit Tablet," a painting from the Qing dynasty (1644?1911) by an unidentified artist. This artwork depicts a spirit tablet surrounded by portraits of twenty-one ancestors, representing a multi-generational family lineage.
