Item description
This handcrafted Ogham stone is a unique piece of Irish heritage and artistry. Created by Ken Bolger in Co. Kerry, Ireland, the piece features the word Failte (meaning ?Welcome?) inscribed in Ogham?the oldest form of Irish writing?carved into genuine slate sourced from the historic Valentia Island quarry. This slate has withstood Atlantic storms since 1816 and has been used in iconic buildings like the Paris Opera House and London?s Paddington Station.
Each stone is hand-carved using traditional techniques and is one-of-a-kind due to the natural texture and shape of the slate.
