30mm 4.09gm ~ cf. U.S. Quarter which is is 24mm and 5.7gm.
Struck 591-628 AD.
Obverse: bearded bust right of Khusro II, wearing crown with two turrets, pair of wings topped by star in crescent above.
Reverse: + Fire altar with two attendants.
Ref. Gobl II/3, 211-216.
Extremely Fine; two small areas of weakness/indentations on obverse, corresponding to altar attendants on reverse; similar weakness on reverse corresponding to bust on obverse, all resulting from deep strike--this is extremely common due to the thinness of these large format drachms..
