Item description
These Egyptian walking onions (also known as tree onions, or topsetting onions) were grown in the high desert of Colorado, among high wind, deep cold, raging sun, and dry/low quality soil, and you'd never be able to tell - they're incredibly healthy, hardy, and prolific. With just a little water and care, one bulb will turn into a whole garden of onions in no time!
There may be a few loose bulblets included if a set doesn't have the required number of bulbs, but I try to keep the top set intact whenever possible. Just break the bulb clusters apart when you're ready to plant. Bulb sizes vary, but I always try to pick the biggest and healthiest bulbs. Many of the bulb clusters are so heavy that they break the stalk and make the whole plant lean over (see last picture), which propagates the plant.
Picked to order, so you'll be receiving the freshest bulbs possible. Earlier in the season, the bulbs will be green, while later in the season they'll be drier and may have roots sprouting from them. Either way, they should be ready to plant immediately. I always include a few extra with your order.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask, and thanks for looking! ?
