Vintage original "RPPC" (Real Photo) souvenir view postcard. [.b Image: A 1910s/20s view of the doorway of a vintage building. I believe this may be a part of an architectural training or educational set. - Size: approx 3.5" x 5.5" - Back: Unmailed. No writing, stamp, or cancellation (see scan). - Condition/Notes: VG+. Semi-gloss finish. Only the most minor corner bumps and edge wear from mailing, handling and storage (see scans). ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Note: RPPC's are actual photographs, printed from a negative onto specially made photo paper with postcard lettering on the back. Generally, there are two kinds: 1) Professional/Commercial, printed by a photo studio, or souvenir distributor. These were often sold in racks at stores and gift shops. 2) An amateur photograph printed on a postcard. These became popular back in the early days (1900s-1910s) when photography and the postcard craze merged. Personal photos could be printed in a home darkroom, or sent to a local photo-finisher.
