He had a breakthrough in ground techniques during his tenure at the University of Tsukuba and garnered victories in events such as the All Japan Student Championships and Pacific Championships, becoming an A-class designated player in the -66kg category by the All Japan Judo Federation. He continued his pursuit of ground technique mastery and left a mark in other martial arts such as Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. His original arm lock, the Komlock, and the Sleeve Wheel Strangle are particularly noted for their high level of completion, capable of catching opponents even when they anticipate it. As an instructor, he served at Adachi Gakuen before joining the Kodokan Dojo Instruction Department in April 2006, where he achieved success in coaching youth and abroad. Since April 2009, he has been a teacher at Tokyo Metropolitan University affiliated junior high and high school, balancing his role as a specialist in ground techniques with ongoing participation in various competitions.
