Gorgeous sterling silver stuns in this rich pattern that features a natural theme reminiscent of old world grace. A classic design yet with an understated touch, this pattern focuses on simple yet refined elegance. The "Acorn" or "Konge" pattern of sterling silver flatware was designed by Johan Rohde in 1915 for Georg Jensen. At one time there were 220 individual pieces in this pattern, but today there is closer to 90 pieces, and remains one of the most iconic Jensen patterns today.
Johan Rohde is known for his innovative and unique style. While his patterns are elegant and classic, they are a unique version of Art Nouveau and still fit in well with today's world. Johan Rohde became one of the first people to work with Georg Jensen after Rohde had Jensen commission some pieces for his personal collection in 1906. Georg Jensen was impressed so much by his style that he invited him to design a collection. In his favorable Acorn pattern, you can see Rohde used decoration to emphasize form as well as hammer marks and oxidisation. His work is both sensitive and understated.
