Item description
Fred was born at Santa Rosa Hospital in San Antonio, TX to his parents Oscar Frederick Eaves and Edna Louise Johnson Eaves.
A veteran of WWII, he entered the Naval Aviation Flight Program and served active and reserve duty for 28 years, retiring as a Full Commander.
Fred graduated from Austin High School in Austin, Texas and received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Oklahoma with a major in Physics and a minor in Mathematics.
After graduation, he went to work with Standard Oil Company of Kentucky and was Assistant Division Manager of the Mississippi Division later to become Chevron. He was transferred to the Executive Offices of Chevron, located in Louisville, KY as Manager of Aviation. Fred moved his family from Louisville to Jackson, MS where he opened Fred Eaves Builder and Eaves Realty. After 10 years in building and realty, he longed to return to the Oil Patch and bought crude oil from the TX/LA line onshore to Florida, gathered it, transported and marketed it to refiners. After 11 years, he retired from Texaco. 29 years in the oil patch and 10 years in the Home Building and Realty business and retired.
