Item description
Broccoli (Sprouting) Early Purple Sprouting Seeds Brassica oleracea italica
50 Seeds
Extremely hardy, this well-proven variety provides a succession of delicious tender shoots
Purple Sprouting Broccoli. Heirloom Vegetable. Rather than produce a single large head, this winter sprouting broccoli produces many small purple florets. Needs 6 weeks of 10 C to initiate floret development. Harvest the central floret as soon as it forms to promote the development of side shoots.
In order to flower, Purple Sprouting broccoli will need a vernalization period. Without at least six weeks of cool weather, the plants may not initiate flowering.
Harvest 60 days after transplant
Side note- I find that the cabbage moths prefer green cole plants over purple ones. It takes them longer to decide to feast on my purple Kale, whereas the green kale is eaten right away. Same with Purple cabbage versus green cabbag
