Product description: Introducing Nova, a series of anthologies of mostly original science fiction stories, edited by American writer Harry Harrison. Stories that question the role of science. Stories by writers who are concerned about their craft, concerned with breaking down the wall between science fiction and literature. And many are tales sparked by wit--deliberate humor being a characteristic of this new school... Nova 1 is the first in the anthology series. A mixed bag of entertaining and surreal 1970's "cutting edge" science fiction where experimental and witty innovation occasionally trumps storytelling. Harison is best known for his character the Stainless Steel Rat (1961) and for his novel Make Room! Make Room! (1966). The latter was the rough basis for the motion picture Soylent Green (1973) starring Charlton Heston. Harrison was (with Brian Aldiss) the co-president of the Birmingham Science Fiction Introduction (Nova 1) (1970) essay by Harry Harrison The Big Connection (1970) / short story by Robin Scott Wilson [as by Robin Scott] A Happy Day in 2381 [Urban Monad] (1970) short story by Robert Silverberg Terminus Est (1970) short story by Barry N.
