Item description
Fire In My Bones cd 3-disk compilation ranging from ?20s and ?30s street-corner evangelist and ?sanctified blues? traditions to more modern gospel, as performed in rural Georgia to urban Los Angeles (see liner notes.) Some are field recordings, but most were originally released on regional independent labels. These recordings are incredibly rare, beautiful, emotional, and always bring the ?good news.? Highlight: The song Rock and Roll Sermon by Elder Beck, 1956; which rocks with the best of them while condemning Rock and Roll to ultimate damnation, a great version of This Train by Elder Samuel Patterson The Christian Crusaders, and Swing Low, Theotis Taylor, 1975. Priceless!
