Item description
Antique Invitation and Mailing Envelope from 1915 regarding the Eight Annual Conference of Governors on August 24, 1915 at the State House in Boston, Massachusetts. Issued by "His Excellency the Governor" who at that time was Democratic Governor David I. Walsh. Mailed to Lieutenant and Mrs. David T. Whiton of Quincy, MA. Measures approximately 6.5 x 8. Four pages, of which all are blank except for the first page. Folded in half to be mailed.. Condition: This is an original antique invitation, not a copy or reproduction. It is in very good condition. Comments: The 1915 Massachusetts gubernatorial election took place on November 2, 1915. The Republican nominee, Samuel W. McCall defeated the incumbent Democratic Governor David I. Walsh, with 46.97% of the vote.
