Item description
Vintage 1940's Cross Stitch on Linen
The original artist did complete this piece.
Girl in garden. She wears an antebellum dress with a bonnet. She holds a parasol.
This is in amazing and like new condition. We removed it from its frame, cleaned the stains from the fabric, ironed it, restored the frame, and reassembled all in the same manner with similar materials. It is beautiful again for another 50 years.
While apart we found a cardboard backing from 1972. See pictures.
We believe that the needlepoint itself is older.
The frame is 9.75 in wide by 12.75 in tall.
The visible portion of the crewel is 9.75 in by 11.75 in.
You will not find one better!
