RD-54 (Rus. paratrooper's backpack of the 1954 model) is a backpack adopted by the Soviet Airborne , designed to accommodate and transport items of combat equipment of paratroopers both during parachute drop, and in marching and combat conditions. According to some Russian experts, the RD-54 backpack belongs rather to the class of simplified unloading systems with a base in the form of a combat backpack. Construction The RD-54 backpack is made of avizent and includes a shoulder pack, shoulder straps to it, a cover for an infantry shoulder blade, bags for two hand grenades and bags for two automatic magazines.
